My class is Healthcare Law.
Here is the debate paper with the presentation of my friend’s work. we decided that I’m going to be the defender and he will be the plaintiff .so keep in mind that the first presentation my friend will present the case and his case as a plaintiff ( see the attachment of my friend’s work ). and I will present as a defender with the conclusion of the case (outcomes of the case).
OUR TOPIC FOR ( Case study: Doe v. American Red Cross (1989) )
You two (friend’s work+ me) are assigned the case Doe v. American Red Cross (1989) for your debate project.
Each student is expected to prepare their own individual analysis of the case. The written analysis of the case should describe the facts of the case, the legal analysis, outcome of the case, and the effect of the case on the health sector. You are encouraged to obtain additional information about the case (e.g. a copy of the court’s opinion or related testimony) to prepare your analysis. The written portion of this assignment should be approximately 3 pages. Although you will be arguing in favor of one party during the debate, your analysis should be neutral.
It is my understanding that you have access to Lexis Nexis. To the extent that it is helpful for you, the legal citation for the case is 377 S.E.2d 323. Please let me know if you run into any difficulty researching the case.
The oral debate will take place during our on-campus session in our regular classroom. The debate will be assessed based on the quality of the research, the presentation of the material, the presenting student’s depth of knowledge of the topic, and the student’s ability to respond to the questions or comments from me and your classmates. Each side of the case will be given 10 minutes to present their case, 5 minutes to respond to the other student’s presentation, and 5 minutes to answer questions. These debates work best when both students work together to discuss the arguments on both sides of the case and, although not required, I encourage you to work together in preparing for the debate.
