Essay Format

Your essay must conform to the following format, regardless of the citation system you use:

  • Title Page – the title page must include: your name and student number; the title of your essay; date of submission; & the course number (JPE 252). No pictures or graphics please. The text of your essay starts on a separate page.
  • Table of Contents – NOT necessary, regardless of the citation system you use.
  • Abstract – NOT necessary, regardless of the citation system you use.
  • Body of the Essay – Pages should be numbered. Do not use Roman numerals. Page one is the first page of your essay, not the title page. The text of your essay should be double-spaced using 12 point font.

    • You must cite all your sources. You must use one of standard academic citation systems for both your notes and bibliography. There are three systems commonly used in the social sciences: APA, MLA, Chicago/Turabian. Choose one.
