NEED IN 12 HOURS or LESS

Your call center facility in India is understaffed by nearly 40%. The current staff is overworked and forced to work 12-hour days with only four days off per month. You have not been able to recruit employees. One reason for this problem is the below-market wages paid, so you are losing talented applicants to a competitor. What would you do to correct this problem?

If I was faced with the issue of my call center being nearly 40% understaffed and being unable to recruit employees because of below-market wages, I would definitely find a way to increase wages. Though increasing wages somewhat contradicts the purpose of offshoring in the first place, it will be necessary in order to recruit new employees, remain competitive, and prevent excessive turnover which costs the company time and money. Also, if the current staff is overworked it can affect productivity which can negatively impact the company as well. To justify the increase of wages, especially for well-qualified candidates, I would take into consideration the issues that I would eventually have to deal with if wages aren’t increased.
