Political Socialization

Political socialization is a lifelong process by which we form our ideas and opinions about politics while also developing our political values. Research has shown that a number of key factors impact our political socialization, such as family, education, religion, race, gender, age, media, socioeconomic status, and more.

Your task is simple for this paper. Please explain three factors that have influenced your political socialization. How did these factors impact you? How have they shaped your ideas about politics and your political values?

Your paper must do the following:

1. Include an introduction that states who you are with some background and what three factors you will be discussing.
2. Clearly identify the three factors in your political socialization.
3. Offer an explanation as to how each factor has influenced you.
4. Include a summary which brings it all back together.

Guidelines for your assignment:

1. Your paper can be no longer than two pages, must be double spaced, and use no smaller than a 10-point font.
2. Your name must appear at the top of the paper.
3. Plagiarism is not tolerated and will result in disciplinary action as defined in the syllabus.

Grading of your assignment:

1. Do you include a proper introduction and conclusion, which help the reader understand the purpose of the paper and also tie it all together? (5 points)
2. Do you clearly identify and articulate how your three factors have influenced you? (15 points)
3. Is your paper free of grammatical errors? Does it follow the paper guidelines? Does it have a logical flow to it? (5 points)
