primary source document analysis 2 pages

You will be asked to do 1 primary source document analysis. Your analysis should be no longer than 2 pages and should seek to answer the following questions:

1. Who is the author? What is their background? Are they credible with what they are talking about? What is their relation to what they are writing about?

1. What is their bias? Given their experiences, what has shaped the way they are discussing something? Is there any bias that give them credibility or undermine their credibility?

1. What is the context in which they are writing? Is it in response to an event? Are they writing during an event? What events are happening around them that would shape their opinion on writing this piece?

1. What is their argument? What evidence are they using to make their point? Is their argument convincing or is it problematic? Be specific, use examples from their writing.

Note: The final 10 points will come from correct citation style and overall writing and form. I am open to any of the major citation styles.

You are required to take a stance in this document. Is the author credible and is their argument sound? This is an exercise in historical evaluation.

This assignment will require a bit more research than what we do in class, please be sure to cite and use credible sources when doing research on your historical author and their background.
