Compensation may be the most important aspect of one’s employment, and this remains so whether you are a domestic or international employee. However, with compensation we know that “one size does not fit all,” and, thus, compensation must be tailored to each person and assignment. This becomes even more important when addressing global compensation. With that in mind, complete the following:

• Discuss how an organization’s compensation philosophy and strategy may differ between its domestic employees and its international employees.
• Choose two forms of salary or benefits (for instance, vacation, incentives, workers’ compensation, knowledge-based pay, sick leave, etc.) that may be offered to employees in the United States location but not to foreign employees. Should an organization offer these benefits to the international employees in light of the fact that part of the reason an organization seeks to expand overseas is to take advantage of the lower employee costs? Explain your rationale.
• Finally, assess how human resources justifies and communicates to its employees the fairness of an organization offering U.S.-based employees better benefits than those serving internationally.

You will be asked to support your thinking with information from the literature.

This assignment is a draft. You will use the feedback you get from your instructor to complete the final version of Section 1 of the DHS DPP Form [DOCX] in Week 7.

Instructions

• Clearly state your planned site and the planned participants.
• Use at least 10 sources to support the assertions and ideas presented in this assignment. Some of the references should be from journal sources and some should be more directly related to the planned site and local community in relation to the topic.
  • Include the references at the end of section 1.2.
• Address Section 1.1 of the DPP: Capstone Topic. Use the required details described in section 1.1.
  • In paragraph format state the topic of the capstone project and include the other details requested for section 1.1.
    • Clearly state the objective of the capstone project (The objective of this project is …..).
    • Clearly state the significance of the topic to Human Services.
• Address Section 1.2 of the DPP: The Research Problem.

Develop a proposal in which you evaluate the two specific products you selected in Week 4. Your goal is to persuade the directors of the health care workplace to implement your chosen informatics solution.

Southern Industrialization

Having depended on slave labor for much of their past, it is no surprise that Southerners found ways to maintain the institutions of slavery despite the laws. One of the most horrendous was called convict leasing in which prisoners were leased out to private firms. The state pocketed a profit and the business owner got very cheap labor. This institution still exists in some forms in some states. Explain how this system effected the African American community in the South. What other institutions created by Southern states kept African Americans in the status of second class citizens?

Assignment 2: Physical Development in Early Adulthood

During early adulthood, people begin make important life decisions in three areas: career, family, and health. Young adults establish patterns of nutrition and physical activity that can have either positive or negative effects on their physical development in later stages of adulthood. They also begin to make decisions about what career path to follow. At some point during early adulthood, individuals also choose either to marry or remain single, and decide whether or not to start a family. Consider the following example:

Jeff is 23 years old. He recently graduated from college with a business degree and took a managerial position with a midsize company. He likes his coworkers, but often finds himself bored with his work. Although he was active in college, recently he has gained about 10 pounds due to his sedentary job and lack of time to exercise. Jeff broke up with his college girlfriend after graduation, and since then he has dated a few different women, but hasn’t had another serious relationship. Jeff wonders what the remainder of his 20’s and his 30’s will bring.

Based on your reading, prepare a PowerPoint presentation that would help individuals like Jeff set goals related to career, health, and family. The presentations should discuss the relationship between lifestyle choices and health risks. In addition, it should address how factors like personality and attachment may influence both career- and family-related goals. Finally, address diversity in the presentation. Explain how your plan could be adapted to fit the needs of different socioeconomic or ethnic groups.

Your PowerPoint presentation should include an introduction, a conclusion, and detailed speaker’s notes. Include your references on one slide.

Develop a 6–8-slide presentation in PowerPoint format with speaker’s notes. Apply APA standards to citation of sources. Use the following file naming convention: LastnameFirstInitial_M2_A2.ppt.
